The market is stocked with inferior and damaged grain, hence the low quotations now ruling. England v. New South Wades. The match between the English team and Eleven of New South Wales was commenced here to-day. The attendance of spectators was small. 'The home team went in first, and were all disposed of for a total of 153. The wicket was somewhat heavy. The following are the scores in the New South Wales first innings : —Davis, st, 18; Geary, run out, 6 ; Allen, st, 7 , Hiddleston, c, 8; Moses, c, 21 ; Powell, b, 22 ; Turner, b, 4 ; Marr, c, 34 ; Evans, c, xo ; Weare, c, 6 ; Callahan, not out, 11 ; extras, 5; total, 152. After the adjournment the Englishmen com menced their first innings, and at the close of the day’s (day had lost one wicket for 39 runs. The following are the scores ;—Mr G. B. Studd, b, 6 ; Barlow, not out, 17 ; Mr C. F. H. Leslie, not out, 1 ; extras, 1 ; total for one wicket, 39.
