BURNING OF THE MILTON POTTERY WORKS.

Forty Hands Thrown out of Employ.

Incendiarism Suspected.

Had there hben any windfall must have been destroyed. The only buildings saved were the kilns,, a brick building .containing 4he wheels, and the printing room.. Recently much valuable machinery'- was' erected, and'only the day before additional expensive works were completed. An immense amount of finished ware in stock was destroyed by the fire. This is a bad thing for Milton. Forty hands are thrown out of employment. Suspicions are entertained of incendiarism. The stock and Pottery were insured for L 1,525 with the National, part of which is re-insured in the New Zealand, United, and Victoria Companies.
