[per REUTER’S AGENCY.] A Dastardly Act. Sydney, Yesterday. An inquiry is being held to ascertain the cause of the fire which occurred at at stables, at Maitland, on the 25th inst., by which three racehorses were destroyed. The jury found that the fire was the work of an incendiary. No arrests, however, have yet been made. The Markets. New Zealand wheat is now quoted at 4s 2d ; New Zealand oats, at 3s 6d; maize, 5s 2d. Sugar Co.’s No. 1 pieces, per ton L 35. Adelaide, Yesterday, Wheat has advanced 6d per bushel, and is now very firm at Flour has advanced 10s per ton; town brands, Ll 4 10s; country do, Ll 3 10s. The freight market is stagnant, and no business doing.
