THE WAR IN EGYPT.
[by cable. [special TO “ THE AGE.”] London, July 25, 6 a.m. A skirmish, lasting half-an-hour, has taken place between the British advanced troops and a party of Arabi’s force. The English lost none, and the casualties on the side of Arabi were slight, -but sixty prisoners were taken. There are 30,000 rebels assembled at Ramleh. The total of Arabi’s force is estimated at 100,000, but they are mostly rabble. The Christians have been massacred at Smyrna.
