A Bia PnEMiUir.—The late Mr Baird, of Gartaherrie, some time before his death bequeathed L 500,000 to the Church of Scotland —a circumstance which enabled his great rival, Mr Merry, of racing renown, to perpetrate one of his best mots. The story of the gift was told him by a friend, who finished up with the query, “ What do you think of it?” “ What do I think,” said the boy in yellow. “ Why, I think that its the biggest fire insurance premium I ever hiew to be paid."
