Consols have further fallen to New Zealand securities remain at yesterday’s quotations. The market rate of discount has advanced per cent., and is now 2%d. The Bank rate is 3 per cent. Adelaide and New Zealand wheats, ex store, are unchanged at srs and 49s respectively. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, is 355. Australian tallow—Best beef, 42s 6d ; best mutton, 44s 6d. The Wool Sales. The bidding at to-day’s wool sale was quiet. There were 6,700 bales offered. Getting Ready. London, June 29. The British Government has chartered two steamers of large tonnage as transports for the conveyance of troops to Egypt. The Plot Thickens. Constantinople, June 28. It has transpired that the Ambassadors of the Powers are still urging the Porte to join a conference on the Egyptian question, and envoys have informed the Porte that should it still refuse to take part in the conference the Powers will be recommended to decide upon measures to be adopted in Egypt, without consulting Turkey.
