Gladstone on the Egyptian Difficulty. ' London, Juno 13. In the House oi Commons to-day,

the Hon. W. E. Gladstone stated with reference to the present situation of affairs in Egypt that the Government considered that any discussion of the subject at the present time would be premature. The Premier, however, explained that the policy which the British Government were following aimed solely at securing the permanence of existing rights in Egypt, and that Turkey was acting in harmony with other European powers. The cricket match Australians v. Derbyshire was resumed at Derby today, when the visitors continued their first innings. The attendance was small, the weather being cold and inclement.
