MOUNT SOMERS ROAD BOARD.
Tho adjourned meeting of the Mount Somers Road Board was hold at the office, Mount Somers, on Friday, tho 9th inst. Present—Messrs A. E. Peache (Chairman), W. 0. Walker, and I. E. Taylor. The Surveyor’s report was read and considered. The following correspondence was read:—From Mr William M’Olimont, requesting him to assist in improving the road to his coal pit. The Chairman stated that he had requested the Surveyor to visit and report on the work. From the Land Registrar, re transfer of Messrs Gould and Cameron’s road. From Messrs Fooks and Son, and from Mr D. Cameron, upon the same subject. From Mr D. Cameron, tendering the resignation of his seat. A circular from the Colonial Treasurer, asking tho opinion of the Board with reference to proposed new Bill affecting the working of Councils and Road Boards, was then considered, the clauses being taken seriatim, and replies decided upon. Several other letters of minor importance wore read. The paysheet, amounting to L4C Hs 3d, having been passed for payment, the Board adjourned.
