[PKK UEUTEh’s AOKNOY. ] Inquiry. Sydney, To-day. The Marine Board has held an enquiry into the recent collision between the steamers Fairlight and Osprey, and has found that the former was at fault. The certificate of the captain of the Fairlight has been suspeded for one month. The wreck of the Osprey has been sold for L 690. The Newcastle Strike. Negotiations have beenjresumed at Newcastle with the view to the termination 0/ the miners strike.
Shop Robbery. Melbourne, Yesterday. A robbery of L 1,500 worth of jewellery was effected last night from the shop of Mr Airnskie, in Lonsdale street. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the affair. The Suez Mail. Arrived, this morning—P. and O. Company’s steamship Mahva, with the Suez mail, dated London, May sth. Harges the Absconder. Adelaide, Yesterday. Harges, the Auckland absconder, has been sentenced to a fortnight’s imprisonment, previous to his extradition under the New Zealand warrant.
