Chamber of Notables to meet forthwith I g was issued to-day. The proclamation is a signed by the Ministers, but is known to * have been issused without the sanction Icf the Khedive. The attitude of the \ Ministry has assumed a mere hostile 6 aspect towards his Highness, and it is t considered that the deposition of the < lattei is now inevitable, unless the de- ' signs of the nationalists are thwarted j by the immediate intervention of the ] European Powers. In the event of the deposition of the Khedive being effected, it is understood that Araba Pasha wiLaspire to the supreme power, and that h« will receive the support of the other numbers of the Ministry and of a large section of the people. The Ministers hav; communicated to vari- ■ ous foreign Consuls their intention of taking steps for the protection of the lives and property of Europeans in Egypt, but they hive also informed the representatives of Foreign Powers that they are determined to resist any attempt which may be made by the Sultan to occupy th? country with Turkish troops.
