[per reoter’s agency.] A Hitch. Melbourne, Yesterday. A hitch has occurred in regard to the Garonne’s passengers who have been liberated from quarantine. The agents of the latter are demanding sustenance money for the period of their detention, but the Government have declined to interfere. Sugar. A Mauritius telegram dated the 24th inst. states that 400 tons of sugar have been engaged for Lyttelton. He’s Coming. Sailed, this afternoon—Union Company’s steamship Albion, for the Bluff. The Hon Peter Lalor, Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly is a passenger by her.
