The accused had received LIOO, and went to , Wellington without telling his partner he was going, but took only L3O with him, leaving L7O with his wife. His partner suspected a criminal intention and laid an information. Larrikinism. Eleven lads have been summoned for larrikinism on New Year’s eve—breaking windows, lifting gates, upsetting offices, Eleven v. Twenty-two. The Presbyterian Synod debated at length last night the question of marriage with a deceased wife’s sister. Ultimately a motion was carried by a majority six referring the question to the Presbytery kirk sessions, with a view of dealing with it next year. Libel. In the Supreme Court, the case, Massey v. Allen, in which the ex Town Clerk claims L 2,500 damages for alleged libel is being heard.
