[per rbuter’s AGENCY.] A Fund in Aid Melbourne, Yesterday. At the Wesleyan Conference now being held here, a fund is being started in aid of the families of the Wesleyan clergymen who were drowned by the wreck of the Tararua. The subscriptions already amount to L. 2,000. Death From SmallpoxOne of the Garonne’s passengers named Morgan died of smallpox at the quarantine station to-day. No fresh cases have been reported from the station. Bank Dividends. Sydney, Yesterday. The City Bank pays a dividend of 10 per cent, for the past half year, L 5,000 is carried to the reserve fund. The Mercantile Bank declares a dividend of 9 per cent, for the past half year, and carries forward 1^3,037.
