MR. WASON AT TINWALD.

! Mr J. C. Wason addressed a meeting of electors at the Temperance Hall, Tinwald, ‘ lasfc evening ; Mr Clark presided. There " were seventj-three persons in the' ELall. At the conclusion of Mr Waaon’a address, a large number of questions were . asked, and answered apparently to the satisfaction of the meeting. Mr J. C. Graham proposed a vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Waaon. : The Chairman said that votes of confi* dence really amounted to nothing, and r ' could only be construed into a very second; ; , rate compliment, and having forciblypointed out that if the electors were not competent, after having heard the views of ' the different candidates so frequently ex- .:; pressed in their several addresses, to judges ; for themselves which was the best: man; without being influenced by votes of confidence, they were not fit to vote at all Mr Graham then, by leave of the meeting, withdrew the latter part of his motion.

MrT. Williams proposed as an amendment —“ That this meeting thanks Mr Wason for his address, but that the meeting is pledged to support Mr Ivess, and will use every endeavor to secure his return.” A show of hands was called forMr Williams wished the ayes and noes to be taken, when five recorded ayes for. the amendment and nearly all the meeting for the motion. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings.
