The Wool Market. —By a telegram from Wellington, we learn , that the London brokers themselves speak hopefully in regard to the wool market, which they are confident will improve. Wakanxji Election. —In consequence of other engagements preventing Mr Purnell from attending at Wakanui on Thursday evening next, he will (with the concurrence of Mr Wason’s Committee) address the electors on Wednesday evening next, Dec. 7, immediately after the closing of Mr Wason’s address. Married Men Beware I—A. medical journal has found out that there are from 100,000 to 200,000 hairs in a woman’s head. The number of hairs in a man’s depends considerably on the time he has been married.

Leap Year. —We confess we are ignorant of the fact whether this be Leap Year ornot, but evidently a young lady in this town, of the mature age of seven years, is better informed, and determined to take advantage of her privilege before its close, as the following conversation will prove. Miss Seven : —“ Mamma, is Mr Blank married ?” Mamma “ No, my dear, he is not.” Miss Seven: —“Why not, mama?” Mamma ;—“Oh, I suppose because he could not get no one to have him.” Miss Seven :—“Oh, then I will have him. ” Mamma smiled, but took no further notice of the matter, which passed out of her mind. A few days' after-, wards Mr Blank was seated beside his would-be captor, when the latter archly said : “Mr Blank will you marry me ?” Mr Blank : Certainly, my darling, I will.” “ But,” said the bride-expectant, “if you do, will yon buy me a carriage, a gold watch, silk dress ” but she was stopped by a very decided “No,” from Mr Blank who very naturally calculated that a wife possessed of such rapacity at seven, would prove a very expensive companion at twenty ,—Manawatw Times.
