THE WAKANUI CANDIDATES.

To the Editor. Sir, — In last night’s Guardian, “ A Liberal ” dispu'esthe assertion of a correspondent, that Mr Wason is a farmer. “ A Liberal ” says Mr Wason is “ more a run-holder than a fanner.” Well, if all run-holders act as Mr Wason does, and contributes as much to the revenue, I for one fail to see why they should be decried as little better than robbers—at any rate spoken of as enemies of progress who should be driven out of the country. X know it is to the interest of the other candidates to assert that Mr Wason is a runbolder, but if anyone willta^f- Jtll ’?^ _ trouble to visit his ’ and judo© for I am sure that he will, find Mr Wason a farmer in every sense of the word. I think it will take more than the bold assertion of “ A Liberal” to convince the farmers of Wakanui that Mr Wason’s interests are not identical with their own. He shall have my vote on polling day, so fully convinced am I that of the four candidates, he alone is the farmer’s friend,—lam, etc., Another Farmer. Ashburton, Nov. 24.
