Winter ... 279 59 338 Friedlander... 252 22 274 Grigg ... 141 132 273 O’Reilly ... 4 1 5 Twelve informal votes were recorded. UPPER ASHBURTON RIDING. Greenstreet. Maronan. Tl. Bullock ... 150 14 164 Wright ... 87 29 116 Harper ... 65 11 96 Two votes were informal. MOUNT SOMERS RIDING. Mount Somers Alford Forest Tl. W 0. Walker 69 21 90 D. Cameron 34 49 83 A. E. Peache 48 6 54
Messrs Winter and Friedlander were therefore returned for Ashburton ; Messrs Bullock and Wright for Upper Ashburton ; and for Mount Somers Messrs W. C. Waker and. Cameron MOUNT HUTT AND SOUTH RAKAIA. Messrs Julian Jackson and John Lambie were returned unopposed. Mr O’Reilly withdrew some days ago from the contest, but this does not seem to have been generally known, as five votes were recorded for him yesterday.
