It is understood that he will be succeeded here by Mr King, at present in Christchurch. Another CandidateDunedin, To-day. Mr C. S. Reeves is a candidate for Dunedin East. A Walk Over. A private telegram says that Sweetmeat walked over for the Royal Park Stakes. A Cash Sale. The Taieri Lake Station has been sold to Mr J. C. Buckland for LIB,OOO cash. , To Good to he Kept Dark. There has been quite a stir in mining stock in Dunedin during the last few days, especially in Keep-It-Dark shares, which have gone up from 18s to 355. It is said that a well-known coal merchant netted, L 3,000 by the rise, and another L 1,600, and a third L9OO. Publicans in Trouble.
At the City Court this morning, Dillon, a publican, was fined L 5 for selling on Sunday, and Fidler L2 10s for selling after hours. Fatal Accident.
Thomson, a miner, has been killed at Surface Hill by a fall of earth.
