[PER, PRESS ASSOCIATION.] The Local Bodies Conference and the Premier. Wellington, To-day. A deputation of local bodies waited on the Premier, urging the Government to give effect to the resolutions passed at the Conference. The Premier replied that in reality the Conference wanted more money, and he promised that the whole of the resolutions should have ths consideration of Government. University Honors. Duned'n, To-day, The University of Glasgow has conferred the degree of D.D. on Professor Salmond. The Dunedin Presbytery. The Dunedin Presbytery has rejected the call to the Rev. Mr Inglis, of Ballarat. Sudden Death. Frederick Reeves, a laborer, died suddenly to-day of heart disease.
