A Case and its ContentsAt the Resident Magistrate’s Court today, Mr Barston gave judgment in the case of Hiffman against the captain of the ship Peru for damage to a piano, lie held that defendant wus only liable for the case or packing, and not for its contents, when the latter was signed for as unknown. The plaintiff’s must show the contents in good order, and not leave it to inference. He believed in this instance the contents had been tampered with, and gave judgment for the value of the case, 20s. Frozen Meat. Carterton, To-day.
