[per press association.] Fatal Railway Accident. New Plymouth, To-day.
A man named George Brackenhire, who was accidentally run over by the train at Normanby yesterday, and was brought into town last night, had his right leg amputated, but he gradually sank, and died at half-past 12 p.m. to-day. Going to Stand. .Dunedin, To-day. Mr Bastings will stand for the city at tho general election. A Rise. Mr H. C. Brewer,' Deputy-Registrar here, has been appointed Registrar at Auckland. Attempted Suicide. Henry Charles Meade was remanded today, on a charge of attempting to commit suicide by cutting his throat.
