THE UNEMPLOYED.
[by telegraph.] Timaru, To-day.
A meeting of the unemployed was held on the Breakwater this morning. There were about a hundred and fifty present. The immigration policy, the practice of sending large sums of money out of the country, and the large landholders, were all alike condemned. A committee was formed to interview the Mayor and Mr Turnbull, the member for the district, to see if they could hurry on the laying of the water pipes, which are now lying idle, and thus absorb some of the surplus labor.
