ALLEGED INCANDESCENCE AT AUCKLAND.
[bt TELEGRAPH.] Auckland, To-day. A fire broke out last night in Bindon’s bottling stores, in High street. A strong north-east gale was blowing, and there was great excitement when the firebells rang. It originated in the straw in which the bottled beer is slacked. The place was flooded by the Brigade in a short time, and far more damage was done by water than by fire. V. and J. C. Bindon were arrested on a charge of setting fire to their premises last night, and were brought up at the Police Court to-day, and a remand for a week was granted, on the application, of the prisoners’ counsel
