A Novel Charge. —A novel kind of a charge to bring into a police court is reported by the Freeman’s Journal as having been put forward by the Limerick policeJ At the Newcastle West Court, two lads, scarcely into their teens, were charged, one with “ whistling with derision amounting to intimidation,” and other with “ whittling 'with' derision amounting to abuse. ” The police. appear to have been unable to satisfy the Bench as to the correctness of their analysis with regard to the whistling, and the cases were dismissed, the conduct of the police, being severely censured by ' the magistrate. 1 ‘
