[per kkuter’s agency.] Beaconsfield’s Funeral. London, April 21. It now transpires that the proposal of the Right Hon. W T . E. Gladston that the funeral of the late Earl of Beaconsfield should be publicly performed was made by the desire of the Queen, but that Her Majesty has deferred to the wishes expressed by the late Earl’s will that the funeral should be of a simple character. The interment will take place at Hughenden on Tuesday next. Won’t Accept It. The convention of Land Leaguers held in Ireland, at which r,OOO members were present, has passed resolutions setting forth the definite refusal of the League to accept the provisions of the Irish I,and Bill now before Parliament unless material amendments are made.
Monetary, &c. Consols remain at ioo)i The Bank rate of discount remains at 3 per cent.; the market rate has been reduced to iy 2 per cent. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the bank of England is Li 5,500,000. New Zea--1879-1984 loan has advanced to five per cent. 10.40 loan remains unchanged at 103, and the five per cent. 1889 loan at 106.
