[per reuter’s agency.] Sculling Contest. London, April 19. A sculling race took place to-day, at Southampton, between Edward Trickett and an oarsman named Kirby. The contest resulted in an easy victory for Trickett. The Death of Earl Beaconsfield. The death of Earl Beaconsfield is deeply deplored by all political parties, and has created a profound sensation throughout Europe. It was officially announced, to-day, that her Majesty the Queen had expressed great.grief at the loss of her most valued and devoted friend and councillor the late Earl. Consols.
