[per PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Horse, Owner, and Jockey Disqualified. Aucklanp, To-day. The Auckland Jockey Club held a meeting re the “ stiffening ” of Golden Crown in the Panmurc Handicap. The Club, after hearing the evidence, decided to disqualify the horse, its owner (Mr Byres), and his son (the jockey) from running on any course under the Jockey Club rules for ever. A Good Three Months’ Work. Dunedin, To-day. The Morrison claim, Blue Spur, washed up lOOOozs for three months’ work. On his Trial. The charge against Paget, ex-postal clerk, is proceeding at the Police Court. Off to the Diggings. The Frederick Basil took nearly 100 passengers for the Mount Brown diggings to-day. Another Little Blaze. Invercargill, To-day. W. H. Mathison’s blacksmith’s shop, at Wyndham, was burned down yesterday morning. A large portion of the contents were insured, but the amounts are unknown. Our Brave Defenders. The Southland men attending the Oamaru review are as follows :—Artillery, 60 ; Rifles, 30 ; Hussars, 50. This contingent will he joined by GO men from the Lakes district, and will leave here on Thursday night, to arrive at Oamaru on Friday morning.
