RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
ASHBURTON. —To-Day. (Before G. Percy Cox, Esq., J.P.) Threatening Language. Robinson Ruddick was brought up on remand charged with this offence. As there was no evidence forthcoming against the accused, he was discharged. 111-treating a Horse. —Martin Moran, against whom there were a number of previous convictions, was charged on the information of Constable Smart with illtreating a horse. Fined L2 or eight days’ imprisonment with hard labor. Drunkenness. —William Kenner was charged with this offence, and discharged, as it was his first appearance. Creating a Disturbance in a Licensed House. —William Kenner for this offence was fined 20s, and for the wilful destruction of private property was fined 20s, and to pay damages, with costs, 255. The same offender was also ordered to pay 3s, the cost of some public property which he destroyed wilfully.
