CHILI AND PERU.
Capture of Lima by the Chilians,
7,000 Peruvians Killed,
Flight of the President. (By Cable.) - London, Jan. 21,
Intelligence has been received from' South America that the Chilians occupied the capital, Lima, on Monday last. ■ Two sanguinary battles were fought between the two forces, and it is said that 7,000 Peruvians were killed. The Chilian loss is not stated. ■
Owing to the defeat of his troops and the occupation of the capital, Pierola, President of Peru, has fled. ;
