At present the elections have resulted in a number, of new members being elected by small majorities; Sir’ H. Park.es, the Premier, has been elected for East Sydney by a small majority. . The Green Wallops the OrangeSydney, To-day.

In the election for West Sydney,.which took place yesterday, David Buchanan, the well known politician, was rejected, and D. O’Connor was elected, despite the extreme measures adopted by the Grangemen to secure the latter’s rejection, as a ip.easure of reprisal for Sir Henry Parkes’ low poll at East Sydney. News has been received that the captain and crew of the Annie Brooks were murdered in September by the Natives of New Stone Island, and that a party of French naturalists were also massacred last month by the natives of Moresby Island.

Death of a Judge from a Carbuncle. Melbourne, To-day;

The death is announced to-day of Sir Redmond Barry, one of the Puisne judges of Victoria, aged 62. Deceased had suffered for some time from a carbuncle, which was the cause of his death. Mr. Berry’s Reform Bill.

It is expected that the discussion ol Mr. Berry’s Reform Bill will be com menced in the Assembly to-night.
