: Gold has been discovered in three other claims on the line of reef, and 900 miners’ rights have already been issued.

There has been great excitement about the Te Aroha goldfields, and a large number of miners are leaving here to be present at the opening on Thursday. About 400 are now on the ground, and 120 went up by the steamer this morning.
A quarter share in the prospectors’ claim sold yesterday for LBO. At a meefcof the owners of the prospectors’ claim, held here last night, it was decided to form a company of 12,000 shares at LI each, and place 0000 shares in the market, at 7s. od. per share, 6s. to go to the promoters and Is. Gd. to the credit of the company. 2000 shares were allotted to the Thames and 400 to Auckland and the Waikato. Immediately after the meeting the Thames shares went, off like wildfire, all being taken up last night, with the exception of 75. Lively scenes arc expected on the opening day. . '
