The Te Aroha Goldfield. Graha mstown, To-day. A rush to To Aroha from Waikato is expected. A Star pigeon-gram this morning says large numbers of farmers visited the prospectors yesterday, and all greatly excited* The gold fever is immense. Accidental Death. Wellington, To-day. An inquest was held this morning on 1 '— 1 -1.. olinf nn Slaf.iiT. day. A verdict of accidental death was returned. The Sorata. Dr. Lemon has received a cable to the effect that the Sorata is being towed into Adelaide. The Anchor Line of Steamers. Nelson, To-day. The Anchor Line steamers, with the exception of the Lyttelton, but together with the Albion wharf and foundry, coal hulk, &c., have now been purchased here. The price has not transpired, but the new owners are Messrs. Cock and Co., Sclanders and Co., P. Donald (Arthur and Co.), and A. Brown (superintending engineer). The steamers wi.l continue to run as heretofore in the Wellington, Wanganui, and West Coast trade. Gold at Stewart’s Island. Invercargill. To-day. One or two parties are getting good gold on Stewart’s Island, but the ground is limited.
