The Hon. Claude Park, of Katikati, has been arrested at the suit of a Tauranga solicitor, for a debt of LIOO, on board the Ringarooma, en route for England. Abbott's Consultations.

Hammich’s Rising Sun Hotel was discovered on fire at 2.40 this morning. The inmates had a narrow escape, some having escaped by sliding down the verandah posts. The hotel, stables, and outhouses were completely destroyed. It is not known how the fire originated. In Cameron’s consultation, the first prize goes to a country settler, the second to a Dunedin insurance agent, and the third to Jock Graham.
