There was a good attendance of home and foreign buyers. 6,900 bales were offered, these . being inferior and ; -' i faulty wools of all kinds. . The tone of the bidding was hesitating. The auction closes on October Ist.

In: the House of. Commons the Marquis , of- Hartiiigton, Secretary of State for India, in submitting the Indian ‘ Budget, said that an increase of taxation was proposed of L 18,000,000.
