The Prince Imperial’s Monument. The proposal to erect the memorial to the Prince Imperial at Westminster Abbey has been abandoned consequent upon the pronounced disapproval of the House of Commons. Her Majesty the Queen, however, has sanctioned the establishment of the memorial at Windsor, her consent being given on the ground that the Prince was killed whilst fighting under the English flag, and also as a token of personal esteem, and friendship for the afflicted mother, the Empress Eugenie.
