In the Gazette of Saturday last, August 17th, we find that «« during the temporary absence of Dr. Johnson from the Colony,. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Dr. Daniel Pollen, to* be Coroner; and Dr. William Davies,.to< be Medical Attendant at the Gaol and< Dispensary, A Special Meeting of the Justices for the Town and District of Auckland, will be holden on Tuesday,, the 3rd day of September next, at the Police Office, Auckland, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of receiving applications for the transfer of Publican's Licenses. Notice is also given that a sitting of the Supreme Court for the dispatch of Criminal business,., will be holden at the Court house* in Auckland, on Monday, the 2nd day o£ September next, at ten o'clock in the forenoon ; and that a sitting for the dispatch of Civil business will be holden at the Court House, on Saturday, the 7th> day of September next, at ten o'clock in the forenoon ; at which times aud place all persons under recognizances to appear either as proseeutors, defendants or witnesses, are required to give their attendance. Notice is also given that & sitting of the Supreme Court, for the diss patch of Criminal business, will be holden at the Court House, at Russell, Bay of Islands, -on Fridayy the first day of October next, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, at r which time and place all persons under recognizances to appear either as prosecutors, defendants, or witnesses are required to give their attendance. The Court will be open for the dispatch of Civil business on the following day. "
