THE ODIOUS HOUSE TAX!

MEN OF AUCKLAND, We perceive an attempt will be made to thrust this vile and odious tax upon you, be up and stirring before it is too late,—trust not to the representation of the Members for Auk/and. Agitate! agitate! let the pressure “from without” convince His Excellency that the people of New Zealand look to him as their friend—the tax is repugnant to every manly, every English feeling. Once more, men of Auckland, give a long pull, a strong pull, and a pul I altogether, and this tax must descend to the tomb of the Capulets.
