DOMESTIC INTELLIGENCE.

Caution.—We have received a long letter from a Correspondent complaining of the indecent scenes that are to be witnessed in the neighbourhood of Shortland Crescent, of a Shop-keeper who has a number of Maori women about his premises, and at times we are told they come out of the side door almost naked. Really it is too bad that the public eye should be disgusted by such exhibitions, and should there be a repetition of such conduct, the Shop keepers in the neighbourhood should indict the house.

The Queen of Tahiti had published two proclamations, declaring that any person guilty of treason by attempting to do away with her sovereignty, or to change the government, shall suffer death within twentyfour hours afer sentence, and all his land shall be confiscated ; and that no foreigner shall be allowed to occupy land without the Queens consent.

Sales of' Property.—On Wednesday last, Messrs, Brown and Campbell sold Seven Allotments in Queen Street, and Shortland Crescent, some of which realized the sum of five pounds, thirteen shillings, per foot, after which they sold an Allotment witl* a stoop in Shortland Crescent, and a small Dwelling House at the ba<k for the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds, and yesterday they sold two shops in Shortland Crescent, with two houses behind, (late Mortons) for two hundred and sixty-five pounds.

Despatches from the Governors of New South Wales and New Zealand, were received in Downing-street, on the 21st of January.
