We are busy fortifying our Pas --- Te Hatepe, Waihirere, Te Ruataniwha, Ngamotu, Matiti, and Ramoto. We are labouring under a want of provisions; we, the old folks; as the young men are constantly drawn away to fight, and keeping sentries. Therefore we request that you will send us some provisions, in order that we may be in a proper position to fortify our Pas --- some flour, and sugar. That is all.
