(COPY) Mission House, April 28th, 1847. Sir, I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 23rd inst., informing me of the arrangement which you have made with te Rangi kapuao, and his son Ngarongomate, in reference to that portion of the Mission Station which has been so long in dispute, and wh lies to the S.E. of the creek called 'Mangotuku", and comprising about 15 acres of land. In reply to that communication, I have to inform you, that, on behalf of the Wesleyan Missionary Society, I accede to the above-mentioned arrangement: Viz, That the portion of land alluded to, do revert to the Mission, with the exception of the Pa called te "Ringamango" situate upon it, and that in lieu of the same, the North Western half of a section numbered "9" on the Map, and which was awarded to the Society by Captain Fitzroy, be henceforth surrendered to the use and occupation of te Rangikapuao. A copy of this arrangement, I shall forward to the Inspector of Police, that it may be submitted to the approval and ratification of his Excellency the Governor.
