natives, intend to have a good feast, either late this, or early next week. In my presence they purchased bread this morning, to the tune of about £15; and are now returning to collect all the luxuries Waitara affords. The Ngatimaniopoto natives, forming the recent whunga, have returned to their several settlements, and conducted themselves very well during their stay here. I am glad to say all is quiet here, and as far as I know, likely to remain so. I see P. Wilson Esq. is the Coroner for this district, by appointment.
