"Wiconi", or rather a portion of it. We have settled upon the line etc. and as we cannot keep our cattle off their Reserve We are likely to become on unfriendly terms with the Natives, a thing which neither myself nor Mr. Fraser wishes by any means, if the place could be rented for a term of years subject of cours e to give it up at any time at the request of the Govmt. in case they wanted to effect a sale etc. etc. they receiving a moderate Rental it would tend to keep a better feeling between both parties the natives are not cultivating to any extent at present at "Wiconi", the natives have on this written to you on the subject they appeared doubtful of getting an answer and requested me to wright you, so youll please inform me if there is any legality in Renting that portion of the Reserve which I mentioned to you, and your decision will be final on my part. No more at present but allow me to subscribe myself Yours Respectfully Cors. Campion
