December 1845 Friend, McLean, This is my message to you, that I have great affection for you all. One part of the land is for your animals; it's not a small part on which to settle them, it's very large indeed. And the plan about the pasture, we all agree to it. After your discussion, the people heard of your word about payment for the land, and Te Matemoana and Te Rei[?] thought about it. They came and spoke to Te Matemoana and Te Onepoto.
