Going under the shadow of the Queen. nthen asked their opinion, as to what they were to do. got up (and said) -- ''I have two things to say. Murder I do not approve of. Neither do I approve of war. Those murderers should be fetched under the law of the Queen. Because the Queen is for my body; and God is for my soul.'' (Said by ) ''I do not approve of war. The law shall fetch the murderers. Because the Queen is for my body, and God for my soul.'' (Said by ) ''I do not approve of war. The Queen for my body, and God for my soul.'' (By) - ''I do not approve of war, (save for) the Queen and God.'' (By) - ''My word is in Mat. C.5, v 5--6, -- ''My trust is in God and the Queen. ...'' (By) - ''Hold fast, my friends! Lift your crown; shoulders taken away. (I am for) God and the Queen.'' (By) - '' ''I say that work (war) was very bad. My fortress is God and the Queen.'' (By) - ''Look at the 2 things, -- God and the Queen. These shall be my shelter. Be courageous to run the race which is to come.'' (By) - ''I say that I don't approve of this causeless war, -- of the Taranaki and Ngatiranui, and those wars. Be faithful by the Law.........'' (By) - ''Rakau, Whanui te are ki a toane.'' (By) , sister of Paora:- ''My children, your sires died in the faith; and also under the shadow of the Queen. Do you be likewise; and go to the good ways of the Queen.'' (By) :- ''Before there was evil, by Hone Keke and Te Rangi. I did not approve of either. Now at Taranaki. But I will go to it. My guardians are God and the Queen.'' (By) :- (Te Rua.) ''My father died in the faith, and friendly to the Queen. I shall also be likewise.'' (By) :- ''Taranaki and Ngatiruanui are wrong. That was a foul murder. Let the Law fetch them. God and the Queen for me.'' (By) :- ''I will not approve of war. Let those murderers be fetched by the law. The Queen for my body, and God for my soul.'' Friend Governor, -- Salutations to you, abiding in the things of God and the Queen. This is our conclusion, that the law shall settle that evil. If our friends in faith, at all places, should see this, they will approve our views. Do you publish these words so that our M. Friends may see it in the M.M. RaglanApril 24th 1860
