I am surprised that this was not found it in the communications had with the Chief Judge who was quite aware that the land in question belonged to Govt. through a letter I myself wrote to Dickey and which he informed me he read to Fenton, I hope and trust this will be the last difficulty I shall have of the sort, I have felt it very much. In showing you the enclosed letters I must beg of you to return them to me as I do not feel authorized to do more than show them to you, though they ought not to have been private notes. You forgot to send me an authority to draw my pay as Crown Agent I trust it will come before the end of the quarter as I may get into difficulties the salary had been drawn by me before the Estimates came down I wrote about it officially November 4 No. 35 and also a mistake in the Native assessors salaries R.
