Wairoa April 13th./67 My dear Sir As you were unable to return I have taken on myself to do all that is necessary regarding Kopus funeral, Major Fraser having kindly assisted me - the funeral takes place today at the Hatepe. Nearly all the Europeans have promised to attend. I have got a good coffin made and intend having a fence erected round it. I have written to Mr. Richmond on the subject asking for approval of expenses incurred. I will send you full particulars after the funeral. I am my dear Sir faithfully yours S. Deighton.
