BASKET BALL
A keenly contested competit- i ion is now in full swing. Teams are training well and already some very fast and hard games have been seen. The surprise of the week was the defeat of Movement Control (Rigg’s Ruffians) by the Duck and Quack ('Johnson’s Gentlemen). The Ruffians displayed an excellent combination and territorially had the better of the game. Unfortunately they fail -ed to make- the cost of their ; ■opportunities to score. On the’ .other hand the Gentlemen saw J very little of the ball but I managed .to turn it to good account.; on .those rare occasions' | when it came their way. Final score ' Gentlemen 8 Ruffians 6 The Holy Joes are a formidable combination. On Friday in a fast game they beat the Provosts by. .14 to 1. a feature of the game was excellent goal shooting by. Padre Goff in and .Wally Polley' . The shouting at goal of the. Provosts left much to be desired, but improvement in .this aspect of the game would make them a team to be reckoned with. In . the previous week’s games the workshops decisively defeat epi Duck and Quack 16 to 4, and after a str-enu-oLLs game
Movement Control defeated Provosts 8 to 4.
This week/ Signals won by default from Camp" Staff.
