CORRESPONDENCE

(To The Editor) Sir, According to the system of points scoring in connection with the bridge tournament at present in play, i.e., the highest scoring pair at the end of five rounds being the group winners, it is possible for a quartet to double and redouble every hand throughout the three rubbers and so finish the play with thousands of points to the credit of each pair, thus giving them a decided advantage over those who may be playing fair bridge and scoring low. Would it not be better if at the end of five rounds the pairs with five wins played off to decide which pair represented their particular group. I am, “ Wondering,"

(To W.T.L.) Your letter stating “someone is getting in early for the boxing" was indecipherable in parts but I gather that some joker sloshed another joker, who almost went out the monk and then the bloke who did the clocking took to his scrapers. Ed.
