DOZERDUST TAKES A BOW.

FOR the next few weeks Dozerdust will resemble a famous Division; it will not be dead, but sleeping. The awakening, it is hoped, will take place in . Ne« Zealand when, after furlough, Works Sergice Engineers will return to the job of digging for Victory. * HOW many of us will be included in the new team we do not know, If we were asked to hazard the guess of how many of our present personnel would volunteer to remain with the Company, we should say, very close on a hundred per cent, though a census at the moment may not reveal so high a percentage.;:::: THE desire to go " home ", the inevitable unpleasantness which is associated with Army, life compared with civilian Ilfs and the monotony which life in New Caledonia has im - posed on us - all these factors combine at times and are laid at the door of Works Service Engineers. ::::: BUT most afi of us, when we think the matter over, know that the fifteen months we have, spent in New Caledonia can be chalked up as a period of cooperation in which military discipline was not conspicuous - a tribute to all ranks, and a factor which will give a hundred per cent responce to an invitation to rejoin ~ the company, if required. ::::: IN making this temporaty exit, Dozerdust, wishes all the best in. the future to those of cur personnel who may, on their return, don civilian clothes. And, finally, to all those at ‘Whom we have poked the 8...... it over the last fifteen months we somewhat sadly leaves - the antics of "TPH", the exp sits of the " Bog Ape_ ” - unrecor - ded. With that me make our last bow in New Caledonia.
