Send it Home ' This issue of “The Blue Light” may be sent overseas without fear of antagonising the censors as great care has been taken to avoid using any place names. In this connexion we would like to express our appreciation of the way in which our advertisers entered into the spirit of the project. To a man they willingly consented to have certain names excluded from their advertisements. THE FUTURE Future Issues of “The Blue Light," will contain a section dealing with New Zealand news. Other features held over from this issue because of space and time limintations will also be included. FIRST CASUALTY The first casualty in the 7th Field Ambulance was ■ Pte. R. 1 G. McKenzie. He received head injuries when knocked down by a motor-car near the fire station at 7 o’clock on the night of Saturday, November 16, 1940. He has made a rapid recovery and will soon be discharged from the Military Hospital. Commenting on what he would like to do to the driver of the car that did the damage, Pte. McKenzie said: “I’d like to sever his cervical vertibrae.” . —35177. MISTAKES ALL ROUND _ . A mistake was made recently when, the 7th Field Ambulance marched-tn-to town to act as reception commit: and official guide to expected troops. Unfortunately the “hosts”, were not permitted on to the wharf and eventually left for camp before the “guests” had left the ship. As their route lay through part of the main thoroughfare the townsfolk mistook them for the fresh troops, and much to the amusement of the soldiers, duly accorded them a hearty welcome. —36575 D.C.H.
